The SBC 187 H is a safety device, also known as a slam shut valve, designed to quickly interrupt gas flow when pressure reaches a set calibration value. It is suitable for 100% hydrogen applications and is used in high-pressure transmission systems and medium-pressure gas distribution networks. The device is compact, offers easy maintenance, and includes features like remote tripping, a limit switch option, and is suitable for hydrogen applications. It is designed according to the European standard EN 14382 and is certified according to European Directive 2014/68/EU (PED). The SBC 187 H ensures bubble-tight leakage, better than VIII according to ANSI/FCI 70-3. It has a design pressure up to 25 MPa or 250 barg, operates within ambient temperatures from -20 °C to +60 °C, and has an inlet gas temperature range from -20 °C to +60 °C. It is made from cast steel ASTM A 352 LCC for the body, austenitic stainless steel for the stem, and stainless steel for the plug and valve seat. The SBC 187 H is ideal for applications requiring high safety and reliability in hydrogen systems.
