The HPS Lectrodryer is a hydrogen purification system designed to purify hydrogen process gas generated by electrolysis. It can be used with different hydrogen production methods and current designs are suitable for electrolyzer systems ranging from pilot scale to 250 MW. The system removes moisture and other contaminants such as oxygen, enabling the hydrogen product to meet hydrogen quality standards including ISO 14687 and SAE J2719. Its dual-tower, heat-reactivated adsorption design enables continuous purification, while the closed-circuit regeneration system uses a captive volume of process gas at line pressure to avoid hydrogen loss during adsorbent reactivation.
