Add to compare
  • The EC28 Series is an electrochemical gas detection system designed for the measurement of toxic gases and oxygen. It utilizes a diffusion measuring gas supply and is available in multiple models, such as EC28, EC28 D, EC28 DA, EC28 DAR, EC28 B, EC28 DB, and EC28 DAB, each offering distinct functionalities.
  • The system includes alerting capabilities in certain models (EC28 DA, EC28 DAR, EC28 DAB) with optical and acoustic alerts (90dB @ 10cm). It provides a relay output with specific models (EC28 DAR) featuring a 1 changeover, potential-free relay capable of handling up to 30V AC/DC and a maximum short-circuit current of 1A.
  • The EC28 Series operates on a power supply of 18...30V DC and supports output signals of 4...20mA or two-wire Modbus (available in EC28 B, EC28 DB, EC28 DAB). It is built to withstand a wide range of climatic conditions, including operational temperatures from -20°C to +50°C, humidity levels of 5...90% r.h., and air pressure ranges of 80...120kPa.
  • The housing is made of stainless steel and anti-static plastic, with an IP64 protection class, and dimensions of 115 x 203 x 55 mm (W x H x D) and a weight of approximately 800 g (with display).
  • The EC28 Series is approved for use in hazardous environments with markings and ignition protection types of II 2G Ex emb [ib] IIC T4 Gb and EU Type Examination Certificate BVS 04 ATEX E 132 X.
  • It also meets electromagnetic compatibility standards (DIN EN 50270) for both interference emission and immunity.

Use Cases

  • Detecting toxic gases and oxygen in industrial or hazardous environments.
  • Continuous monitoring for safety compliance.

Capabilities

  • Operation under ambient temperatures from –20 °C to +50 °C, humidity 5–90 % r.h., and air pressure 80–120 kPa
  • Electrical output via 4–20 mA analog signal or two-wire Modbus (model-dependent)
  • Versions with integrated audible/visual alarms and relay output depending on model variant
