The EC24 is an electrochemical gas sensor designed for measuring various gases. It operates on a diffusion-based measuring principle and is suitable for different environments with specified temperature, humidity, and air pressure ranges. The sensor offers multiple output signal options, including 4-20 mA (200Ω) or 0.2-1 mA (4kΩ), and is built with durable materials, including an IP66-rated housing and a stainless steel sensor holder. It is certified for electromagnetic compatibility and has specific explosion protection ratings for certain models, making it reliable for industrial and hazardous environments.

Use Cases

  • Typically used in hydrogen and related industrial applications

Capabilities

  • Continuous gas concentration measurement using electrochemical sensors with diffusion sampling
  • Operation within –20 to +50 °C, 5–95 % r.H., and 70–130 kPa ambient conditions
  • Analog current signal output (0.2–1 mA or 4–20 mA, model dependent) for integration into control or monitoring systems
  • Suitable for installation in industrial and hazardous environments, with explosion protection limited to specific models (MWG2411 / MWG2412)
GfG Gesellschaft für Gerätebau mbH GfG is a key player in the green hydrogen economy, focusing on producing carbon-free hydrogen via renewable energy. It aims to convert its Whyalla plant to hydrogen-powered steel production. GfGs efforts align with global efforts to reduce fossil fuel dependence.
