About Lamina®

  • The Lamina® LS-10 is a compact, open-architecture PEM fuel cell assembly designed for simplified system scaling of application power level, integration and high hydrogen utilization. Its design eliminates hydrogen recirculation and minimizes balance-of-plant complexity while maintaining controlled, stable operation in the ohmic region of the polarization curve.
  • By reducing auxiliary subsystems to the essential minimum, it enables:
    • High hydrogen utilization
    • Simplified integration
    • Low mechanical overhead
    • Predictable degradation behaviour
  • The result is a compact hydrogen fuel cell focused on efficiency, clarity, and scalable system integration — not balance-of-plant complexity.

Use Cases:

  • Drones
  • Agriculture applications
  • Robots
  • Technical Cleaning
  • Mobile power units

Capabilities:

  • Generates electrical power from hydrogen gas with 12 W peak output
  • Operates within an ambient temperature range of 5–40 °C
  • Achieves up to 95 % electrical efficiency under stated conditions
  • Enables rapid refueling (< 1 minute) due to hydrogen-based operation
  • Modular physical configuration allowing scalable integration

Our Journey Begins at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden

FCT Sweden’s story started as a visionary research project at the prestigious KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. In 2005, Professor Anders Lundblad and his team set out to create a lightweight, cost-effective hydrogen-powered micro fuel cell that could deliver high performance in a compact form. This project laid the groundwork for MyFC, a KTH spin-off founded in 2007 – supported by a robust portfolio of patents and intellectual property.

Our Journey

Fast forward to 2022: as the world accelerated its transition to new energy, a new chapter was established: FCT Sweden. With a legacy of engineering excellence and a track record of commercializing technology, the company was infused with entrepreneurial spirit and fresh vision.

Today, under CEO Matthias Brendel, FCT Sweden unites academic research, engineering excellence, and entrepreneurial ambition – pioneering tomorrow’s energy through compact hydrogen solutions, reimagined for innovators in consumer and light industrial applications.
