Metal Seals are advanced sealing solutions designed to prevent leakage in extreme conditions such as high temperatures, high pressures, vacuums, and harsh chemical environments. They are primarily used in automotive power systems, including internal combustion engines (ICE) fueled by diesel, other liquid fuels, and hydrogen (H₂ICE), as well as hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) applications. These seals offer exceptional durability, a long service life, and an unlimited shelf life, unlike elastomer seals. They are effective in both static and limited dynamic applications, with various types like face seals and radial seals. The effectiveness of these seals depends on factors such as contact load, surface finish, and plating material. They are suitable for a wide range of applications, including exhaust manifolds, hydrogen tanks, CO2 compressors, and robotics. Their performance is characterized by extremely low leakage rates, as low as 10⁻¹⁰ cc/sec He, and they are engineered to handle extreme temperatures up to +1010°C / 1850°F and ultra vacuums down to 10⁻¹² mbar. The seals are also customizable to meet specific application requirements, ensuring optimal performance and reliability in demanding environments.
