SAFE S.p.A. is an Italian engineering and manufacturing company specializing in compression and gas-distribution systems, with its headquarters and production activities located in the Bologna area. The company serves natural gas, biomethane, hydrogen and industrial gas applications and combines compressor technology with mechanical packaging, storage, controls, safety systems and station-level integration. Hydrogen is one of SAFE’s established application areas: the company develops compressors for pure hydrogen, packaged refueling stations, high-pressure storage and mobile solutions that can be integrated downstream of electrolysis or other hydrogen sources. SAFE also offers virtual-pipeline configurations in which hydrogen is compressed at a mother station, transported in high-pressure containers and unloaded or conditioned at a daughter station, as well as grid-injection and on-site generation/refueling concepts. Its role therefore extends beyond the compressor itself into the engineering of complete hydrogen handling installations. Within the hydrogen value chain, SAFE is positioned between production and end use, enabling compression, storage, logistics and dispensing for mobility, industrial and distributed-energy applications.
