The Ceres Endura Stack (SOEC configuration) is Ceres Power's Version 7 solid oxide electrolysis stack, the core building block of its hydrogen-production products (e.g. the Electrolyser Module). Ceres' stack consists of hundreds of cells, stacked together in a robust and easy-to-install unit, and the same physical stack architecture is dual-use — the identical production line can build either fuel-cell (SOFC) or electrolyser (SOEC) configurations. In SOEC mode, the stack operates at 450–630°C, producing 0.87 kg/h of hydrogen at an efficiency of 34.5 kWh/kg on 30kW of DC input power, delivering hydrogen at 2 bar(g).

Use Cases

  • Solid-oxide electrolysis for hydrogen production
  • Integration with industrial waste heat

Capabilities

  • Performs solid-oxide electrolysis, producing 0.87 kg/h of hydrogen
  • Operates at 34.5 kWh/kg hydrogen production efficiency on 30kW DC input power
  • Delivers pressurised hydrogen at 2 bar(g)
  • Combines hundreds of cells in a single stack unit
Ceres Power Holdings plc

Ceres Power Holdings plc, a UK-based developer of solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) and solid oxide electrolysis (SOEC) technology, licenses its intellectual property to global manufacturing partners for the production of green hydrogen and clean power, having demonstrated its reversible technology at megawatt scale and being cited by the UK Hydrogen Strategy alongside ITM Power and Johnson Matthey as at the forefront of UK hydrogen technology development. The company's reversible SteelCell technology can generate electricity from multiple fuels in one direction, or produce green hydrogen at low cost and high efficiency in reverse (SOEC electrolysis mode), and Ceres announced first hydrogen production at its MW-scale SOEC electrolyzer demonstrator unit in India in May 2025. Key hydrogen-related manufacturing licensing partnerships include Denso (SOEC stack manufacturing to support a hydrogen supply chain, demonstrated jointly with JERA) and Thermax (adding SOEC hydrogen production systems based on Ceres' technology to its Indian product portfolio), alongside dual SOFC/SOEC licensee Delta Electronics. Ceres continues developing stack platforms capable of generating power or producing hydrogen from the same core cell and stack design, enabling manufacturing partners to build both fuel cell and electrolysis stacks from shared production facilities as the company works toward becoming the global industry standard for solid oxide hydrogen and power technology.
